While teeth whitening is a great solution for brightening your smile, many people also experience worn tooth enamel, uneven alignment and spacing, chips and cracks. These issues are easily solved with veneers.

New Look Dental offers two types of veneers;

Lumineers and porcelain veneers.

LumineersLumineers are ultra-thin, highly translucent veneers that are designed to replicate the natural appearance of enamel. The Lumineers procedure is completely pain free and can oftentimes be done without shots or grinding down your natural teeth. On your first visit, Dr. Kirakosian will take a precise mold of your teeth. After the mold is made, a brief consultation will decide which shade of white is best for you. The mold is then sent off to the Lumineers Smile Design Studio where your custom veneers are created. After the custom veneer is received, Dr. Kirakosian will check for fit and color, and then the veneers are painlessly applied. With Lumineers you will be able to eat and drink normally, however, regular teeth cleanings are still crucial to your dental health.  Furthermore, Lumineers are incredibly durable and can last twenty years or longer.

Porcelain veneersPorcelain veneers are different from Lumineers in that they are thicker and require the tooth to be prepared before applying the veneer. Porcelain veneers work best with teeth that have extreme discoloration, dullness, extensive cracking or chipping, and large spaces. This procedure is typically completed over the course of two visits, in a six week time frame. Dr. Kirakosian will have an extensive consultation to determine the severity of your concerns, any oral health issues that need to be addressed, and to select the best tooth color for you. At this time, a mold of your teeth will also be taken so that custom veneers can be created. After the consultation, a local anesthetic will most likely be administered so that your teeth can be prepped for the veneer. Preparing the tooth may include reshaping it with a cutting device so that the veneer may get the best fit. Porcelain veneers are resistant to staining, durable, and great for correcting multiple flaws in your smile with one simple procedure!

No matter which type you choose, veneers are a wonderful way to get the smile you’ve always desired! Veneers can not only brighten your smile, but also correct crooked teeth, cracks, chips, and spaces! Consult with Dr. Kirakosian to decide which type of veneer is best for you!
